Both knives look to be home made, the metal is a thick gauge, not sure the material, I am mostly sure they were made in Butler County Nebraska, the name on the wood is "Straka" probably the folks who made them, the wood handles are securely fitted onto the blade, they do look home made too as the handles are a little rough cut, they also look like they are very durable
